March 2010 Class Offerings

PASTEL WORKSHOP for Beginners PAULA FORD – instructor
March 26th - 9 AM to 4 PM
Students will learn pastels and safety, how to clean your pastels; fixative; mounting and framing:  an actual demonstration with all materials; working with photographs – simplifying the landscape; thumbnails, underpainting and toning.  The rest of the afternoon is devoted to rules of landscapes, and painting a beautiful landscape with step-by-step instructions and individual help.

Students will be responsible for bringing the items on the supplies list.

SPANISH classes – Jaord Pearson – instructor
Spanish I - An introduction to the Spanish language where you will learn basic vocabulary, verbs, phoentics and common phrases.  Monday and Wednesday evenings in March, 5:00 p.m., beginning on March 1st.  Cost - $60, includes lesson book. Register here.
Spanish II - Learn to read and interpret the language with additional vocabulary, terms and phrases.  Monday and Wednesday evenings, 7:00 p.m., beginning on March 1st.  Cost - $60, includes lesson book. Register here
Note:  Students enrolling in Spanish II who previously took Spanish I are welcome to attend the Spanish I classes again at no additional charge.  This is a great opportunity to review the basics while learning the additional material in Spanish I.

WATERCOLOR - Pat Underwood – instructor
THURSDAY, March 4, 9:00 am - noon Register here
Students will start from the beginning. You will learn about color, (primary, secondary, intermediate, tint, shade, and complimentary). During the 4 weeks we will cover materials, color mixing, composition, wet on wet, vignette, greeting cards, monochromatic, abstract, still life, and more.

CLOGGING – Virginia Sawyer and Ashlie Wells - instructors
Monday, February 1st, class time 5:00pm-8:00pm Register here

*Beginner* - The first hour of class is for beginners (child or adult).
In this class you will be taught the 8 basic steps of clogging. Class
fee $20.00 (4 weeks) paid with registration. This is an ongoing class
with new students joining monthly.

*Intermediate* - The last half of class is for child or adult who know
the 8 basic steps of clogging. Class fee $20.00 (4 weeks) paid with
registration. This is an ongoing class with new students joining
