We invite you to the 2014 Lecture Series!

This year we are covering the theme "Characters of County", honoring individuals who were larger than life and whose legacies carry on to this day. The lectures are held in the Training Center at Cowan Center for the Arts (the same place as last year) on the last Sunday of the month, 4:00 p.m.

The lectures are free with donations gladly accepted, and refreshments are served.

Characters of the County:

Sunday, April 27, 4 p.m. - Fr. Jones: Plantation to Pulpit. Speaker: Mr. Tom Lynch

***No lecture in May due to the Memorial Day holiday weekend.***

Sunday, June 29, 4 p.m. - Major William Russell, Founded a Franklin County in two different states! Speaker: Jarod Pearson from Franklin County Tennessee, and Chris Ozbirn from Franklin County, Alabama. Speaker: Jarod Pearson

Sunday, July 27, 4 p.m. - Tractor Seat in the Cemetery, the life of "Old Bill Brakefield".

Sunday, August 31, 4 p.m. - none scheduled

Sunday, September 28, 4 p.m. - Miss Dinah Shore, from Winchester to Nashville to New York to Hollywood. Speaker: Mrs. Joy Gallagher

Sunday, October 26, 4 p.m. - Mr. A.S. Colyer, founder of Franklin County Industry.
